This page explains what information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: I only use what you send me to reply to you, and I use Google Analytics to see how people find and use the site.

When you contact me

If you use the contact form, it sends me an email with the name, email address, lesson interest, and message you enter. The email also includes the date and your IP address, which helps me spot spam.

I use this information only to reply to you and arrange lessons. I don’t add you to a mailing list, and I don’t sell or share your information with anyone.

To prevent spam, the site briefly records a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address to limit how many messages can be sent in an hour. It isn’t used for anything else.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it, for example which pages are viewed, how people arrived, the type of device and browser, and approximate location (such as city or country). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to collect this information, and it is reported to me in aggregate, not as information that identifies you personally.

To opt out, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Fonts and videos

The site’s typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers when the page loads. The performance videos are hosted on this site and don’t track you.

Students under 13

I teach students of all ages, but I ask that a parent or guardian send the first message for any student under 13. If you believe a child has sent me personal information without a parent’s involvement, let me know and I’ll delete it.

Your choices

You can ask me what information I have from you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it at any time by emailing alex@ahills.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
